What is an External Identity?
Externals identities are identities that exist outside the realm of your company's on-premise Active Directory. Individuals from external firms can require access to resources that contain your information. The traceability of the External Identity access needs to be tracked using QuartzID.
:::(Warning) (Access Rules) Access should be granted on a need-to-know and least privilege basis :::
Request access
Connect to QuartzIQ and enter the name of the resource in the search bar.
Select your access
Look for the role for which you want to request access.
Access to External Identity can only be requested when the access permissions are identified with a tag. If you wish to request access and the tag is not displayed, please contact your Service Delivery team.
Carefully read the description and click the shopping cart icon on the right side of the desired resource role. The selected resource role will appear as an item in the shopping cart in the top-right side of your screen.
Select user
Go to the top right of your screen and click on the main shopping cart. The resource role you have selected will appear in the Access Request Checkout window.
Click on the icon and search for your External Identity. If the External Identity does not exist, select and fill out the form.
Submit your request
Finalize the form by completing the Start/End date and documenting the business reason of the request.
The reason should include the project/initiative the individual will collaborate on, the use of the access, and the name of the team members with which the individual will be in contact with.
Click on Submit on the right bottom of the screen. Your request has been sent!
